2nd update. Back to 5 stars. Went back another 2 times. Explained that my left aid was still popping out. She gave me a longer wire, and with the larger bell, now seems to work very well and is not popping out anymore. Emma also terminated the receptionist, who apparently was making errors with other people's appointments also. After a little bit of miscommunication, I can now highly re-recommend Emma. Very knowledgeable and provides good customer service.
Update 4 weeks later from earlier review. Went back to see Emma, and it was like she had never met me before, even though this was my third visit. She didn’t seem to have any notes about previous visits. Although she gave me a longer wire because the aid in my left ear kept popping out (at my request), she hadn’t remembered that I had complained about it at the previous visit, and that she had changed the bell size. Very disconcerting. Also, the new receptionist doesn’t seem to have gotten a handle on her job. An appointment that I had made at my previous visit had gotten cancelled for some mysterious reason (She blamed it on the call service, whatever that is. ) It took a day before she responded to my call for a new appointment. Maybe the receptionist is suppose to give Emma notes about my case, but I would have expected them to be on the computer. Now I’m torn whether to continue seeing her, or try to search out a new audiologist. She seemed very competent, but it is really strange to not being recognized.
Emma is very helpful and knowledgeable. I wanted to change audiologists, but since my hearing aids were only 3 years old, I didn't particularly want to get new ones so soon. She tuned up my hearing aids to better match my high frequency hearing loss, and gave me instructions on how to insert my aids. Even though I have been wearing aids for 8 years, and I complained that they kept falling out of my ears, she substituted a smaller rubber bell and told me how to properly insert them resting on the top of my ears instead of behind them. She explained the features of the more modern aids, and if the tweeks on my older aids don't work well enough, I will definitely plan on buying new aids from her.
