Your First TeleHealth Appointment
Our staff is excited to connect with you and we have already put your upcoming TeleHealth appointment in your tablet's calendar. To see your appointment, the calendar widget should appear in the middle of the homescreen. You can also click on the calendar icons on the lower right hand corner of the tablet screen.
1. Hearing aids and Telehealth Tablet arrive to your home.
Be sure to check your package, ensuring you have all the components for your Phonak hearing aids as well as the tablet.
2. Your Confirmation Call
Within a couple of days of receiving your devices, our staff will call you to review the contents of your box - confirming you have all necessary devices, cables, etc. To prepare for your TeleHealth Appointment, we will go over turning each device on and off, connecting to the myPHonak App, and answer any other questions you may have.
3. TeleHealth Appointment
At the day and time of your appointment, your Hearing Care Provider will connect with you for a video chat, using the myPhonak App. During your appointment, you will use your hearing aids to do a remote hearing test. With the results of the test, the provider will work with you to make real-time adjustments to the hearing aids, optimizing its fitting. After answering any other questions you may have, you will then schedule a follow up TeleHealth Appointment within the next couple of days.
Tips when connecting
Be sure you are seated comfortably. It will help to have a table in front of you and the tablet sitting in the green tablet holder that has been provided. The tablet should not be plugged in for the video call so it will sit in the green tablet holder correctly.
Make sure the room is well-lit and relatively quiet.
A spouse, family member, and/or friend are welcome to sit nearby for support.
Returning your Devices
If you decide to purchase
- the hearing aids and telehealth tablet will still need to be returned. If you are participating in the trial, your hearing aids are demos and you will be issue brand-new devices.
If you decide not to purchase
- as with all our patients, there is no-obligation but our staff is sincerely passionate about finding a solution that works for you. We'll want to know where you're still struggling in hearing and may have more ideas to try. In the event you will not be keeping the devices, we ask that you box them up along with any accompanying cables and materials. Our staff will be in contact with instructions on how to return it.
