You may hear the term telehealth more frequently these days.  The COVID-19 pandemic is forcing people to 'shelter in place' making routine healthcare visits more challenging. Depending on the type of healthcare being offered, telehealth can mean a number of different things.

In area of hearing health care, telehealth is a number of services that Connect Hearing can provide from distance.  This would allow patients to connect with audiologists and hearing care professionals from their homes for convenience and/or safety.

TeleHealth and Online Care

There are a number of services we are providing virtually now to ensure that we are still delivering the same great care while still adhering to social distancing guidelines. Here are a few of the services we are offering virtually:

Phone or Video Chat Appointments - patients can connect with our staff over the phone to discuss their hearing health needs, needed repairs or general support. Using a smartphone, tablet or computer, video chat becomes an option.

Hearing Aid Fittings and Adjustments - our staff are trained on the very latest in hearing aid technology which includes remote adjustments and fine-tuning. Through smartphone Apps and our latest audiological software, Connect Hearing providers can access one's hearing aids and adjustment them in real-time to optimal settings.

Telehealth Compatible Hearing Aid Trials - for those interested in trying out telehealth using the latest hearing aid technology, Connect Hearing offers free, in-home trials. Hearing aids can be delivered to one's home and adjusted remotely during subsequent follow up appointments.

Telehealth in Real-Time

“I had a patient that bought an IPad after her appointment and she wanted to know how to pair it to her hearing aids. Since we were remotely connected to her cellphone I called on her home phone and talked her through downloading the MyPhonak app through the Apple store on her IPad,
turning off the bluetooth on a device she was not using and pairing her hearing aids to her IPad. I called her back on her cellphone to make sure she knew how to reconnect her cellphone from her IPad. This remote support was done quickly and efficiently!”
